Adoption

This is our son Noah, at one of our visitations with him (the first time was at 3 months-photo on Babies page). He was 11 months here.  We got to see him at the DHS office with his foster mom. After that, the caseworker started us on "transition periods" where we would get to have him for the weekends--until he was 14 months old.  He had been in 3 homes before ours, and in the hospital for a period of time before that. Including birth-mom, he was ripped away from 5 different attachments before we finally got him.

Reactive Attachment Disorder:

I highly recommend learning about R.A.D. before adoption. You never know which kids will end up with it or how severe it will be. So many cases go undiagnosed, and I am worried for all of those kids out there whose parents have no clue what is going on.  R.A.D. can be extremely stressful on a mom, a marriage, and the whole family.  Please see the links below for further help!!
