SERIOUSMOMS NEWSLETTER

Issue 5

January 2008

Happy Winter!

I hope this newsletter finds you well!

I want to remind you all about the cool Quicklinks Pages on Serious Moms! I have my own and I've set it as my home page--I keep all of my favorite, most used links on that page. Everything is just one click away from me on this page! I don't have to type in http:// addresses any more, it makes things so much easier!  Check out mine and e-mail me about creating one for you! (It's FREE!). :)

I write on my blog almost daily. Check it out (and post a comment so I know you stopped by!). :)

Cupcakes to Strike Your Fancy~

There are articles all over the net about cupcake shops being popular. Zillions (ok, maybe not that many!) of people are blogging about these sweet little desserts. :) Want to make some of your own fancy treats? See the new Cupcakes page on Serious Moms!

Valentine's Day!

It's coming soon! I've got a whole page devoted to this fun holiday on Serious Moms. Go see the Valentine's Day page for craft ideas, recipes, the history of Valentine's Day, and more!

RESOLUTION #1, Get Control of those Finances

Besides losing weight, the top new year's resolutions have something to do with making a budget, getting out of debt or just generally getting in control of the finances. There's a whole section on Money on Serious Moms, and I'm adding more to it often. For specific subjects, see Budgeting, my newest page with tips on Setting up a Budget, and also see the page on Debt. There are tons of great links and tips on those pages, I highly suggest them!!

Date Ideas

Just in time for Valentine's Day, I've added some more Date Ideas to the site!  It's expensive to go out, of course, so I also created a page full of  Recipes for Romantic Dates at Home and a page of Romantic Movies to watch on Valentine's Day!

I made a page about Homemade Gifts just in time for Christmas, but I think it's a good, year-round resource. Need to make a hostess gift? A birthday gift? A baby shower prize? Check out this page!

Questions for y'all!

I've got some questions on the front page of the site. Go there and then e-mail me with your answers!

Also, I've been feeling crafty lately--I want to know what crafts you enjoy, and what resources you use? (books, websites, discussion forums, etc.!) E-mail me with your answers!

Serious Moms is on Facebook!  Join the group to connect with other moms & to keep informed about updates on the website!

My Favorite Music These Days:

I am loving the soundtrack from Curious George, by Jack Johnson, and the kids enjoy it too. :) I also really like his song Better Together from his album In Between Dreams.

Coming Soon~
  • In the last newsletter, I mentioned the cheap menu that I came up with. Well, I had changed things on it and saved over it--I was so disappointed! BUT, I just found a hard copy when I was cleaning my desk (So good to clean that desk every now and then! :). I WILL be posting it on Serious Moms SOON! :)
  • St. Patrick's Day and Easter are the next holidays, so I'll be posting some information about those holidays.
  • Also, since Ruby is now 5 months old, baby food is on my mind. I'd like to make a page devoted to this topic!

As usual, feel free to pass this on to anybody that you think might want to read this! If you received this e-mail as a forward and would like to be on the newsletter list, e-mail me and let me know! The last newsletter came out in November, and my current plan is to send one out every other month.

Blessings!!
