Godly Wife Lists
Note:  This is a list that I put together for myself based on what I found in Scripture.  Use it if it helps you!

Who I should be as a Godly wife….

  • Inseparably united to my husband (Genesis 2:24)
  • Kindhearted (Proverbs 14:1)
  • Discreet (Proverbs 11:22)
  • Building up my house (Proverbs 14:1)
  • Not quarrelsome (Proverbs 19:13)
  • Of noble character (Proverbs 31:10)
  • Lacking nothing of value (Proverbs 31:11)
  • Giving my husband full confidence in me (Proverbs 31:11)
  • Bringing my husband good and not harm (Proverbs 31:12)
  • A worker with my hands (Proverbs 31:13)
  • Not lazy (Proverbs 31:13)
  • Willing to go out and get food for my family (Proverbs 31:14)
  • Awake when others are still sleeping, making food for my family (Proverbs 31:15)
  • Making meals for my family and for others (Proverbs 31:15)
  • Resourceful and wise (Proverbs 31:16)
  • A hard worker (Proverbs 31:17)
  • Strong (Proverbs 31:17)
  • Never lazy or selfish (Proverbs 31:18)
  • Always working (Proverbs 31:19)
  • Giving and helpful (Proverbs 31:20)
  • Prepared—planning ahead (Proverbs 31:21)
  • Talented, creative, industrious—and using those qualities for my family’s sake (Proverbs 31:22)
  • Well dressed (Proverbs 31:22)
  • Encouraging and uplifting to my husband—so much so that he’s respected and has confidence in himself (Proverbs 31:23)
  • A finisher of tasks around the home so that my husband doesn’t have to and he’s free to serve for God’s kingdom (Proverbs 31:23)
  • Helping my husband provide for our family in any way I can (Proverbs 31:24)
  • Strong and dignified (Proverbs 31:25)
  • Not stressed or worried about the future (Proverbs 31:25)
  • Speaking wisdom and “faithful instruction” (Proverbs 31:26)
  • Watchful and alert of my household (Proverbs 31:27)
  • Not idle (Proverbs 31:27)
  • Raising children who will be of God (Proverbs 31:28)
  • Fearing the Lord (Proverbs 31:28)
  • Not focused on being charming or beautiful to the world (Proverbs 31:30)
  • Submissive to my husband “as to the Lord” (Ephesians 5:22, 1 Peter 3:1)
  • Pure and reverent (1 Peter 3:2)
  • Beautiful within (1 Peter 3:4)
  • “Gentle and quiet” in spirit (1 Peter 3:5)
  • Not giving “way to fear” (1 Peter 3:6)
  • Not depriving my husband of our physical relationship (1 Corinthians 7:5)
  • Be learning in quietness and submission (1 Timothy 2:11)

 

My Daily Goals as a Godly Wife:

  • Give him compliments and praises

  • Stay away from any form of criticism

  • Do not blame him for things that are not his fault

  • Make him a healthy dinner every night

  • Prepare a lunch for him to take to work

  • Make sure he has food for breakfast and snacks

  • Iron clothes for him to wear to work

  • Show him love in ways that he understands it

  • Do not ask him to serve me

  • Instead, serve him!!

  • Do something especially nice for him today!

  • Do all of these things (and show love!!) even if I do not feel like it today
