Games

Games are really a fun way to get to know other people.  We often play games when we have friends over.  (Side note: games are also a great way to teach things your kids and just to spend time enjoying them!!)  My family played games a lot when I was a kid, and I remember my parents playing games most times they had people over.  I recommend learning a few great games and pulling them out when you have company over! (If not more often than that--playing games with my husband is a favorite past-time as well!)

Card Games with Rules Online:

Nerts My family's favorite card game.

Spades A little easier and slower than Nerts. Easier to teach to kids.

Hearts A classic, I've met more people that know this game than any other card game.

10 Pennies  My family plays a game called Ten Pennies, and I could not find any instructions for it on the internet.  My mom had a typed up sheet of instructions, so I copied that and added a few notes.  So here it is, the only copy of instructions available on the internet, to my knowledge! :)

Misc. Games

Clue Master Detective Printable Forms My parents have this game--it is very fun! If you can find it anywhere, it's the best version of Clue I've seen.  My parents ran out of the sheets that came with the game, so my husband made up some more.

This is a beautiful book with such fun thoughts and recipes about hosting tea.

The best game EVER, in my opinion! :)
