  • "Here's a meal planning idea that works for both of my sister-in-laws.  They call is 'Meals for a Month'.  They each have five children and meal times are difficult to prepare for because of the growing needs of their families.  They get together for one or two full days of the month and cook all day long.  In that time period they prepare freezer dishes for an entire month.  They prepare enough to average 2-3 meals per week and assume that they make also partake in leftovers.  It's easy to do with two and doubling or tripling of recipes.  They include the older kids in this process."  --Submitted by Debbie
  • "Another meal planning process:  My other sister-in-law plans out her meals each week on Fridays and shops for the ingredients on Saturdays.  This serves as the main portion of her grocery list and there is no last minute guess work."  --Submitted by Debbie
  • "I like to start all my dinner prep (thawing meat, cutting veggies, maybe even putting together a side dish) by 12:30 or so.  That way if the day gets busier dinner isn't nearly as labor intensive."  --Submitted by Marie

This "Saving Dinner" book is SO great! It includes several menus with shopping lists--and options of making the meal low in carbs or not. This book makes it easy to eat low carb and still feed the kids! :) No work! Just copy the shopping list and head out the door!
