Good morning ladies!  Well, for all you homeschoolers out there, here's a quick math equation.

A sick family + Many nights of very little sleep + A very tired mom

=

No blogging for a few days!

There you go....now you see why I think my husband will be teaching the more advanced mathematics! Hey, he has an electrical engineering degree, he can do it, right??  :)  My degree is in English, so I'll be focusing on (you guessed it), LITERATURE!

Anyways--this weekend brought us a nice sheet of ice and there is possibly going to be more today

I have been thinking lately about how important my alone time with the LORD is.  He uses such time to change me in ways that I don't think I'd be changed otherwise.  Not that I think He's incapable of changing me throughout the day--and He does, for sure.  There are many times during the day when I have a negative attitude or think of something in a way that I know the LORD Himself  would not think of it, and usually I say a quick breath prayer that the LORD would deliver me from such attitudes and thoughts...and He does.  But to wake before my family and come to Him in prayer, offering my day, my life, my attitudes, my actions, my children, my husband, my friends, and other family--this kind of quiet surrender to Him is precious to me.  While I am apart from noises and distractions, I am able to give so much more than a brief second or a passing glimpse amongst the other "tasks at hand" to my LORD and Savior, my Redeemer.

I encourage you today, if you get a chance--maybe when your kids are quiet and down for nap, or if they are playing safely, to leave the room for a bit--and spend some time with the LORD.  Give your day to Him.  Give your family to Him.  Pray about those little attitudes and thoughts that you know would not be pleasing to Him.  Your day will be different, I guarantee it.  Try it!
