Blog
1
I have a lot on my
mind today, so Lord
willing; I may write
more than one blog.
Have you guys ever
tried waking up in
the morning and
committing your day
to the Lord? I have
a goal of waking up
every morning and
digging into
Scripture. This is
a great goal, and I
am not letting go of
it—but sometimes it
doesn’t get to
happen in the
morning. Sometimes
my little Kaleb
wakes up and starts
whimpering. And
though I have no
problem with
training him to stay
in bed until I go
get him (usually
around 7), I
personally have a
hard time focusing
on reading with the
noise. But I can
always pray.
Are you a list
maker? I am
definitely a list
maker! Give me a
topic and I’ll make
you a list! I’m
always planning
things out,
scheduling and
rescheduling exactly
what life should
look like.
Sometimes I think I
spend more time
making lists than I
spend actually doing
the work. I read
somewhere that
businesses are 75%
more effective if
they create lists.
I don’t know if this
is true or not, but
I’ve held to that
statistic for quite
a while now, just to
back up my own
habits! Life is
getting busier
now—with adopting
our third child and
driving several
hours a week to go
pick up our precious
son and then to
drive him back to
his foster parents.
I barely have time
to keep up on basic
house work, let
alone make a list of
what I need to do!
I have dirty laundry
in the hallway right
now, dirty laundry
on our bedroom
floor, on my boys’
bedroom floor, muddy
shoes from the
pumpkin patch
sitting in the
bathtub with the
hope that I will
find time to clean
them sometime soon,
etc. I could go on
and on. But it
doesn’t matter; I’m
not making a list,
am I?

Since I don’t have
time lately, here’s
what I’ve been
doing—I wake up in
the morning, close
my eyes, and give my
day to the Lord. It
is so simple
ladies. It takes
less time than
making a silly old
list, and yet, the
day goes so much
smoother because of
it! It is freeing
to say “Lord, this
day is yours—guide
it, show me what you
want me to do and
how you want me to
live, and let this
day glorify you.”
That’s it. I highly
suggest it.
“In his heart a man
plans his
course, but the LORD
determines his
steps” –Proverbs
16:9.
Anyways, that wasn’t
at all what I had
planned to talk
about—but I’m glad I
did. Thank you
Lord.

And guess what? Now
my little Kaleb is
whimpering and I’m
feeling that I
really ought to take
a shower and then go
get him up and make
breakfast with my
little guy.
Hopefully there will
be more time to
write later!
